Refound - Home of Upcycling

Recently we've been desperate to do some major spring cleaning. Usually this comes along with getting (or making) a few new things to spruce up the house a bit. We found this store, Refound, a couple of years ago whilst walking aimlessly around the city centre. At the time, it was definitely the only one of it's kind I had seen in Belfast.

Recently upcycling and reclamation has become a lot more trendy, which means lots of lovely (and well built) furniture is being given a new lease of life. The furniture in-store is definitely in a higher price range given the quality of the pieces and the time/labour that has gone into it's creation. However if, like me, you're not at the point of building up a large collection of furniture then you can definitely still be inspired by a visit & just seeing the small and creative ways people put a personal stamp on things. I like to visit to look at the rotating stock and pick up decorative trinkets for the house. At the minute I have my eye on the train signs like the Bangor one in the first picture. If you have a bigger budget and something particular in mind, they also offer custom designs.

If you're looking for a new piece for your house, or just some inspiration from people who have taken one man's trash and turned it into their own personal treasure, head down to Refound at 1-5 Albert Square, Belfast.

You can find Refound online here. They also have a blog here.
